10 Math Activities for the 100th Day of School - Simply Creative Teaching (1)

I love celebrating the 100th day of school with fun math activities! Even if your students have celebrated in past years, you can find new ways to celebrate! Here are 10 engaging math activities for your 100th day of school celebrations:

10 Math Activities for the 100th Day of School

1. 100th Day Collections: You know that giant collection of mini erasers you have a million of? It’s time to pull them out for 100th day collections! Students can collect 100 items in groups of 10, 25, or 100.

2. Skip Counting Sparkle: This game is easy to play, but it’s also one of my favorite math activities for the 100th day of school! To play this whole group game, students will stand in a circle and count by 2s, 5s, or 10s to 100. On their turn, students will say the next number in the skip counting sequence. After the sequence gets to 100, the next player must say “SPARKLE.” That player is out and must sit down. You can easily differentiate this game by choosing a more difficult skip counting sequence or counting past 100.

3. Play Hunting for 100: This game is played similar to Battleship. Students hide their game pieces in different spots on the hundreds chart. Players take turns calling out numbers and the opponent will say “hit” or “miss” for each one.

4. Money to $1.00 Partner Game: You will need game pieces and a bucket of coins to play this game. Students will roll the dice, move on the game board, and collect the coin that matches the space they landed on. The first player to reach $1.00 or 100 cents is the winner.

5. Place Value 100th Day Party: To play this place value board game, students will roll a die and move on the game board. At each space they land on, they will collect base 10 blocks. The player that collects enough base 10 blocks to reach or exceed 100 takes the cake and is the winner!

6. 100 Happy Hippos: Can your students find sums that equal 100? In this partner game, students will race around the board and find sums that equal 100. The first player to collect all 3 happy hippos wins the game!

7. Building with 100: Provide students with building materials like toothpicks or marshmallows and challenge them to build the tallest structure using exactly 100 pieces. This activity promotes problem-solving and counting.

8. 100 Exercise Challenge: Break up your math activities for the 100th day of school with this exercise challenge! It is a fun mix of counting by 10s and physical fitness! Use the 100 Exercise Challenge checklist to complete 10 exercises with 10 reps for each exercise!

9. 100 Seconds Name Challenge: How many times can your students write their first name in 100 seconds? Set a timer and have students write their first name as many times as possible. Graph the class results. This is another one of my favorite math activities for the 100th day of school!

10. 100 Coin Flips:Grab a coin and flip it 100 times! Record the results to see how many times it lands on head or tails!
