COVID PAST UPDATES

COVID update Aug 2022: Many schools are also removing the exemption for excused absences for COVID. Meaning extended absences are no longer excused. This measure is to prevent too many absences as students and teachers try to maintain attendance and regularity.See COVID updates timeline below the list for the last update.

The schools that have COVID information on their websites is shared below. Some have removed this information while others have added it to their health and security info. Contact your school district for more details.

Feb 2022 update: While the schools were required (after the long drawn out dispute between the schools and Gov. DeSantis) to lift mask requirement and allow students to opt-out of mask wearing, many schools are still strongly recommending them. As tensions about COVID eases and schools try to get back to normal,DeSantis is not moving forward to normality. Instead, he is agressively trying to remove funding from schoolswho were trying to protect the health and safety of their students. Most parents in the state of Florida just want to get back to normal, not continue the fight. And schools are moving forward in the best interest of the children and the families. Let’s encourage our Governor do the same. Taking away funding is NOT in the best interest of anyone, particularly the children.
